War of Attrition
The leader had read an article on a plane. This always drew internal groans from the leadership team. What new initiative did we all have to now undertake?
It was in relation to the cost of turnover. Losing people and then training new hires. The research had been done. Especially for leaders. The costs to eliminate a leader and train up a new one was significant. And what were we learning about the people that left voluntarily? Often “fun” companies can’t imagine that someone would want to leave or that any other place could be as great.
